(L.A.) Juan Padilla Yanez, 51, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Juan Padilla Yanez.

Cause of Death: Effects of Mitragynine, 7-Hydroxymitragynine, and Ethanol

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polysubstance overdose.

Mitragynine is the most abundant active alkaloid in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom.
