(L.A.) Juan Cuevas, 26, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 26-year-old Hispanic male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Juan Cuevas.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Chest

RIP JUAN CUEVAS (November 23, 1992 – January 9, 2019)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 11:10 p.m.

The decedent was shot in the 4700 block of Beverly Boulevard in the Koreatown neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles.

He was not a documented gang member.

LAPD still has this as a cold case as of May 2026. The reward for information leading to the identity, arrest, and prosecution of the shooter is 50,000 dollars.

Juan Cuevas, 26, was shot and killed near Beverly Boulevard and St. Andrews Place in Koreatown in January 2019. Seven years later, his parents, Cesar and Patricia Cuevas, returned to the neighborhood this weekend to hang flyers, hoping someone will provide information about the unsolved killing.

The oldest of four children and the oldest son, he was the partner of his father in their plumbing business.
