(L.A.) Joshua Monugian, 34, Died in La Mirada

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joshua Monugian.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Head

RIP JOSHUA MONUGIAN (July 7, 1991 – July 13, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

The decedent was shot at around 3:45 a.m. in the 14800 block of Steprock Drive, near La Mirada Boulevard and Imperial Highway.

LASD said Monugian and another male individual were standing down the street when they saw a man engaged in a physical altercation with a woman. The pair tried to break up the fight. Afterwards, as they were walking back to their residence, a vehicle pulled up beside them. A suspect exited the vehicle and fired several rounds. Monugian died on the spot; the other victim was taken to the hospital.
