(L.A.) Jose Vargas, 45, Died at a Transient Encampment

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Latino male that occurred at a transient encampment.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Vargas.

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 6:20 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
