(L.A.) Jose Santamaria Alfaro, 61, Died on a Mountain Trail

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Latino male that occurred at a mountain trail.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Santamaria Alfaro.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Acute and Chronic Alcohol Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 2:48 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 25.

It looks like a lifelong alcoholic who drank too much within the last 24 hours of his life, and it caused him to suffer either a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or cardiac arrest.

Alcohol deaths can be classified as accidents under the assumption that the sots didn’t intend to kill themselves.
