(L.A.) Jose Moreno, 46, Died in El Monte

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old Latino male who died in the bushes.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Moreno.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wounds of Back

RIP JOSE MORENO (September 19, 1978 – December 16, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 9:24 p.m.

The decedent allegedly tried to steal makeup from a Target store in El Monte, returned and brandished a firearm at an employee, took off in a car for a short pursuit, and was then shot in the back by a police officer.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Jose Moreno” in public records.
