Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Mercado.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Hypothermia

Other Significant Condition: Sequelae of Chronic Ethanol Use

RIP JOSE MERCADO (October 14, 1962 – March 5, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 12:09 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on June 1.
