(L.A.) Jose Gonzalez, 21, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Hispanic male who passed away at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Jose Gonzales.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 12:42 p.m.

The government clerk belatedly changed the decedent’s surname from Gonzales to Gonzalez, and the date of death from February 23 to February 25.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late August, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Jose Gonzalez” in public records.
