(L.A.) Jose Figueroa Jr., 22, Died in Lancasater

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 22-year-old Latino male that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Jose Figueroa Jr.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday morning.

LASD sent deputies to the 1700 block of East Avenue J-4 at 12:07 a.m.

The decedent had apparently been in an altercation with a man who then produced a handgun and fired. Witnesses say the suspect fled in a vehicle.

On November 30 in Lancaster, LASD arrested Michael Bates, 56, on suspicion of murder. The arrest happened at 5:00 p.m. He is currently being held at Men’s Central Jail with bail set at 2,220,000 dollars.
