Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 18-year-old Latin American male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Espinoza, IV.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Torso

RIP JOSE ESPINOZA IV (June 3, 2004 – January 3, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:00 a.m. He was actually shot on January 2, Monday night, at around 9:00 p.m.

Incident location was East Alvarado Street and North Garey Avenue.

Note that the investigator entered a comma before the suffix in the decedent’s name.
