(L.A.) Jose Ayala Alas, 37, Died at a Freeway Embankment

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Latino male that occurred at a freeway embankment.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Ayala Alas of Palmdale.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Formal pronouncement of death was made Saturday night.
The decedent was a gang member who may have been of Salvadoran descent. He apparently shot dead a police canine before being himself gunned down by Burbank PD. The whole incident started with a traffic stop near the northbound I-5 on-ramp on Buena Vista Street, during which he fled.
