(L.A.) Jose Arellano, 48, Died From Meth

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Arellano.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 9:53 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 19, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
