(L.A.) Jonathan Flores, 16, Died in Exposition Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 16-year-old Latino male that occurred in the parking lot of BMO Stadium.
The coroner’s office identified the teen as Jonathan Flores.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 4:37 p.m.
The decedent was in a group of about 40 bicyclists who were pedaling south on Figueroa Street, just north of Martin Luther King Boulevard, when an altercation took place between the group and the driver of the sedan. Apparently, one of the youngsters may have hit the car’s side mirror.
* City News Service had initially reported that the victim was a 17-year-old skateboarder.
The driver followed the group through an opening in a fence and into the stadium parking lot, where he allegedly hit the boy.
BMO Stadium (formerly Banc of California Stadium) is a soccer-specific stadium in the Exposition Park neighborhood. It is home of Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles FC and the National Women’s Soccer League’s Angel City FC.
The suspect, identified as Jonathan Antonio Rodriguez, 28, remains at large.
