(L.A.) John Bess, 53, Died at a Business

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 53-year-old Black male that occurred at a business.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as John Bess.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Lidocaine Effects

RIP JOHN BESS (May 10, 1971 – December 17, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:13 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late February, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
