(L.A.) Joe Hyde, 68, Died From Overdosing on Illicit Drugs

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joe Hyde.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine and Phencyclidine Toxicity

RIP JOE HYDE (December 13, 1956 – January 12, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 10:43 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
