Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old male of Latin American ethnicity that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joaquin Chavez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

RIP JOAQUIN CHAVEZ (March 20, 1968 – December 31, 2022)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 11:12 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-December 2023, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug.
