(L.A.) Jian Gabat, 30, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 30-year-old Filipino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jian Gabat and listed his race/ethnicity as Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Sequelae of Congestive Heart Failure

Cause of Death B: Cardiomegaly

Other Significant Conditions: History of Methamphetamine and Opiate Intake

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 5:31 a.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
