RIP JEANNE EDGAR (August 18, 1954 – March 25, 2021)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 2:05 p.m.

The decedent was walking her dog when she was senselessly attacked by Ricardo Saldivar, who also stabbed her small white Bicon Frise named Sashi.

Saldivar would eventually plead no contest to first-degree murder.

Saldivar was armed with a knife when he confronted Joseph Cohen as he walked through the park toward a public restroom. Cohen ran back to his truck as the perp chased him. Saldivar then turned his attention to Edgar and her 10-year-old dog, who were walking in the 1400 block of Renwick Street, near the park.

In 2023, he was esntenced to 32 years in state prison.
