(L.A.) Jaysent Clark, 50, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Jaysent Clark.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death A: Anoxic Encephalopathy
Cause of Death B: Consequence of Traumatic Cardiac Arrest
Cause of Death C: Blunt-Force Trauma to the Body
Other Significant Conditions: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease, Hyperlipidemia, Diabetes Mellitus with Chronic Kidney Disease
RIP JAYSENT CLARK (March 1, 1974 – June 12, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 10:20 p.m.
The decedent was the manager of Jameson’s Pub in Santa Monica. He was escorting drunken patrons out of the bar establishment when a man allegedly punched Clark, causing unconsciousness.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 5, 2024.
UPDATE: Even though the DME ruled this a homicide, prosecutors in September 2025 decided to drop the charges against Leonard Hector Korpie, the man who had initially been charged with the voluntary manslaughter.
