(L.A.) Janie Cales, 54, Died in a Parked Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred in a parked vehicle.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Janie Cales.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl

Other Significant Conditions: Medical History of Asthma, Depression, and Drug Abuse

RIP JANIE CALES (July 15, 1969 – May 18, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 9:49 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on September 9, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, overdose.
