(L.A.) James Plummer, 72, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 72-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as James Plummer of South Gate.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Complications of Incised Wound of the Left Forearm

Other Significant Condition: Hypertensive and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP JAMES PLUMMER (1954 – April 6, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

The decedent was attacked by a homeless man on April 1 at a Metro station in downtown L.A.

Cary Odell Singletary, 66, has been charged for the murder.
