(L.A.) James McNaught, 63, Died at a Hotel

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a hotel.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as James McNaught.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Diazepam, and Ethanol Toxicity

RIP JAMES MCNAUGHT (June 27, 1961 – March 2, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 10:10 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 17, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.
