(L.A.) Jacob Marmolejo Halbrook, 25, Died in a Tent

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a tent.

The coroner’s office has identified the young man as Jacob Marmolejo Halbrook.

Height: 5 feet 7 inches. Weight: 130 pounds

STATUS: The decedent’s body has been released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.

Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.

Because the DME has ordered drug testing to be done on specimens taken from his body, the next public update may take three to six months.


Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 6:32 p.m.

The decedent was arrested by LAPD on May 17, 2023, for 484(A) Petty Theft; 594(A) Vandalism; and 459.5(A) Shoplifting.

He was arrested by LAPD on April 17, 2023, for vandalism involving the damage of property costing more than $5000.

He was arrested by LAPD on April 4, 2023, for petty theft.

He was arrested by West Hollywood sheriff’s deputies on January 1, 2023, for possession of a narcotic controlled substance.

His first recorded citation within the borders of L.A. County was by Hawthorne PD on May 17, 2022, for petty theft.
