(L.A.) Ivan Gomez, 28, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old male of Latin American ethnicity that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ivan Gomez.

Cause of Death: Sequelae Of Infective Endocarditis

It appears the medical examiner ruled this case an accident and not a natural death (endocarditis) because it was the drug abuse that precipitated the death. Overdoses are most often classified as accidental.

Factor VII deficiency is a bleeding disorder characterized by a lack in the production of Factor VII (FVII) (proconvertin), a protein that causes blood to clot in the coagulation cascade. It is hereditary.
