(L.A.) Israel Gutierrez Suaste, 27, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 27-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Israel Gutierrez Suaste.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 6. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.

Diazepam, widely known as Valium, is a benzodiazepine commonly used to treat anxiety, seizures, and muscle spasms. It works by enhancing the effects of a neurotransmitter called GABA, which helps to calm the nervous system.
