The coroner’s office identified the man as Hugo Ruano Garcia.

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Ingestion of a Caustic Substance

RIP HUGO RUANO GARCIA (March 16, 1998 – June 11, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 5:50 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 16, 2024.

In March 2025, however, the manner was changed from Homicide to Accident.
