Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old Hispanic male that occurred on a street.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Hugo Castaneda Jr.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death A: Blunt Force Injuries
Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease
RIP HUGO CASTAÑEDA JR. (January 26, 1964 – August 27, 2022)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 6:21 p.m.
The decedent was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in Pico Rivera.
The accident was reported at 5:37 p.m. at Gallatin Road and Rosemead Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash scene involved a white Subaru, black Jeep, blue Nissan sedan, a black Ford sedan and an unknown vehicle.
Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the scene.
An arriving officer reported that paramedics started chest compressions on thhe victim, and that the coroner was requested after the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
