Herbie Hancock Celebrates Miles Davis

Concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday, August 19, at 8:00 PM (gates open at 6:00 PM).

The show will celebrate the centennial of Miles Davis, with Herbie Hancock — the Hollywood Bowl’s Creative Chair for Jazz and a 14-time Grammy winner — leading the tribute.

When you celebrate a titan, you need some serious firepower. Herbie Hancock gathers Terence Blanchard, Ron Carter, Kenny Garrett, Christian McBride, Vince Mendoza, and Marcus Miller to pay tribute to the one and only Miles Davis. All told, that’s 45 Grammys on stage honoring one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century.

Herbie Hancock was a key member of Miles Davis’s legendary Second Great Quintet from 1963–1968, appearing on classic albums like ESP, Nefertiti, Sorcerer, and In a Silent Way.
