(L.A.) Herbert Simms, 43, Died From Substance Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 43-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Herbert Simms.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl, Fluorofentanyl, and Ethanol Toxicity

RIP HERBERT SIMMS (September 27, 1979 – September 26, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 1:07 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late May the following year, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab.
