(L.A.) Henry Gonzalez, 37, Died in Lancaster

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Latino male.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Henry Gonzalez.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound Through the Chest

RIP HENRY GONZALEZ (April 9, 1986 – July 4, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 3:05 p.m.

The decedent was a motorcyclist who was shot dead in a suspected road rage incident in Lancaster.

California Highway Patrol said the shooting happened on the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at the Avenue L off-ramp shortly before 2:57 p.m.

Officers initially responded to what they were told was a traffic collision.

Jesse Cupido, 29, of Sun Valley was arrested for this crime and charged with murder. As of 2026, he is incarcerated at North Kern State Prison in Delano. He already had a criminal record in his younger days.
