(L.A.) Grace Edwards, 19, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 19-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.
The coroner’s office identified the young woman as Grace Edwards.

Formal pronouncement of brain death was made on Wednesday.
The decedent was a nursing student who was hit by a vehicle in Long Beach on November 2 at around 3:55 p.m.
She was walking in the Trader Joe’s parking lot with her mother when the distracted driver of the vehicle pulled out of a parking space.
The driver, a 39-year-old in a 2015 Lexus IS250, remained on scene and cooperated with police investigators.
