Georges St.-Pierre Officially Retires from MMA
Ultimate Fighting Championship star Georges St.-Pierre has officially announced his retirement from mixed martial arts.
I’m announcing my retirement from the UFC and mixed martial arts competition. I intend to keep training and practicing martial arts for as long as I live, but now is the time that I chose to end my career as a professional MMA athlete. The 37-year-old Canadian known by his initials GSP said on Thursday, “In combat sports, you should retire on top. I’m thankful I get to do that.”
He added that he no intention of growing obese the way others athletes have after retiring.

St-Pierre was a two-division champion, winning titles in the welterweight and middleweight divisions.
