(L.A.) George Black Jr., 78, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 78-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as George Black Jr.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Sudden Cardiac Dysfunction

Cause of Death B: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Recent Heroin Use

RIP GEORGE BLACK JR. (September 20, 1946 – January 22, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 3:26 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-April, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
