(L.A.) Gena Dahilig, 57, Died From Overdosing on Coke

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 57-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hotel/motel.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Gena Dahilig and listed her race/ethnicity as Hispanic.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Juarez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Cocaine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:51 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 2, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental overdose.

The decedent’s surname is associated with the country of the Philippines and also with Guam. She may have been at least half-Filipino.
