(L.A.) Francisco Lopez-Nayariz, 38, Died From a Drug OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Francisco Lopez-Nayariz.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Toxicity of Fentanyl

Other Significant Condition: Recent Cocaine Use

RIP FRANCISCO LOPEZ-NAYARIZ (February 27, 1986 – August 10, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 10:38 p.m.

The government investigator had initially given the decedent’s full name as Francisco Javier Lopez, before later changing it.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in early January, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
