Flex Alert in Effect Today, from 4 PM to 9 PM

With extreme heat forecasted across much of California into early next week, the state grid operator has issued a Flex Alert for 4pm to 9pm today.

California residents can help reduce stress on the grid by conserving energy use during these hours.

🌡 Set A/C to 78+ degrees

🏠 Set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, if your health permits

🔌 Avoid using major appliances, like dish washers and clothes washers and dryers

🏠 Close curtains to keep home cool

💡 Turn off all unnecessary lights

A Flex Alert is issued by the California Independent System Operator (ISO) to encourage voluntary conservation, in order to maintain a safe and reliable grid.
