The coroner’s office has identified the man as Fate Vaughn, born in Glendale.

The decedent styled himself as the rapper “CAINE” or The Cainey Man.
He appeared to have been of partly Filipino descent.
The decedent had been arrested on January 26 for a misdemeanor battery on a cohabitant. The bail amount had been set at 20,000 dollars.
