Facebook’s Twitter Account Hacked by OurMine via Khoros

An entity identifying itself as “OurMine” has hacked into Facebook’s official account on Twitter at around 3:45 pm Pacific time.

The hackers appear to have gained access to Facebook’s Khoros account.

Khoros describes itself as “community and social media management software that makes it easy for marketing and support teams to deliver the best customer experiences.”

KHOROS says it’s “built from Spreadfast + Lithium.” Khoros is essentially the name of the company formerly known as Spredfast; it is “a global social media marketing software company that provides community management, social media marketing, content management, social care, and social media analytics tools to enterprise brands and agencies.”

Founded in 2010 in Austin, Texas, Khoros / Spreadfast has approximately 500 employees; its CEO is Rod Favaron. Lithium Technologies, based in San Francisco, is its parent organization.
