(L.A.) Fabian Armas Cortes, 34, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in Downey.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Fabian Armas Cortes.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Traumatic Injuries

RIP FABIAN ARMAS CORTES (January 20, 1989 – July 22, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 3:00 a.m.

The decedent died when the car he was riding in crashed into a tree. A man with him named Mynor Medina also died. It is still unclear who was driving.

The incident happened in the area of Downey Avenue and Imperial Highway.

In the first video below, which was taken soon after the incident, they thought only one person had died.
