(L.A.) Erik Carpio Vasquez, 28, Died in Westlake

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Latino male that occurred at an outside staircase.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Erik Carpio Vasquez.
STATUS: the decedent’s body is ready to be released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.
Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.
If the DME has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take three to seven months.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 7:44 a.m.
The place of death is the same as that of Carlos Camilo.

Paramedics were called at around 7:30 a.m. to the 1300 block of West Second Street in the Westlake area for a medical emergency. They found two people dead. It is assumed that both men died from drug overdoses.
