California Congressman Eric Salwell (D) is Running for President in 2020

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California says he’s running for president. He announced his campaign during an appearance on the Colbert Show.

Who dat?

Swalwell is most famous for two tweets, one of which he posted six weeks ago about the pains he took to avoid Trump Tower.

It’s snowing in #NewYork. I need coffee. The closest cafe is inside Trump Tower. This is me walking to an alternative.

His other notorious tweet, from November last year, included the line “The government has nukes.” which was his response to a citizen who hypothesized that the American people would rise up against the tyranny of government if the Second Amendment were taken away.

Eric Swalwell, the guy who said he would nuke America in a tweet, has just announced he is running for President.

2020 is going to be hilarious 🤣

Swalwell is 38 years old and is the U.S. Representative from California’s 15th congressional district (San Francisco Bay area).

The tagline for the #Swalwell2020 campaign: Go Big. Be Bold. Do Good.

As of today, there are about 20 Democrats who have declared their intention of becoming their party’s nominee to become president in 2020.
