(L.A.) Emmanuel Hernandez Garcia Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the infant as Emmanuel Hernandez Garcia.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Intrauterine Fetal Demise

Other Significant Condition: Maternal Drug Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 1:20 p.m.

Intrauterine fetal demise is the medical term for a stillbirth.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 25, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is classified as an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
