(L.A.) Eliza Guzman, 14, Died From Fentanyl

Case Number: 2024-04714

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 14-year-old Hispanic female who passed away in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the young teen as Eliza Guzman.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl

RIP ELIZA GUZMAN (March 16, 2010 – March 19, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:05 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 24, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

This girl had just turned 14 years old three days before her passing. She could well be the youngest case of a fentanyl death in the county, excluding babies and toddlers who died as a result of maternal drug abuse.

Below is a 14-year-old who was about two months away from turning 15.
