Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Black male that occurred at a shelter.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Elijah Fountain.

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl

RIP ELIJAH FOUNTAIN (October 3, 2002 – September 27, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 8:40 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-November, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.
