(L.A.) Elijah Davenport, 14, Died From a Chest Shot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 14-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the boy as Elijah Davenport.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Chest

RIP ELIJAH DAVENPORT (January 14, 2011 – March 1, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 12:35 a.m.

The decedent was fatally shot in an unincorporated area between Gardena and Compton.

County sheriff’s deputies had been called at 11:58 p.m. Friday to the 13100 block of Jarvis Avenue, between Main and San Pedro streets, in Willowbrook.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
