(L.A.) Edvin Avagyan, 26, Died in Sunland

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 26-year-old male that occurred on a street in the Sunland-Tujunga area.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Edvin Avagyan and listed his race/ethnicity as Middle Eastern or North African [sic].

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 11:45 p.m.

The decedent was gunned down in the 7800 block of Denivelle Road in Sunland.

He was walking alone in the street when two vehicles approached. Two men got out — one from each vehicle — and opened fire. After the shooting, the men returned to their vehicles and drove away.

Later, a 39-year-old suspect turned himself in to police, saying the victim was the boyfriend of his ex-wife.
