Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Latino male that occurred at a business in downtown L.A.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Eduardo Perez Basurto.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Back

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 9:05 a.m.
The decedent was an employee of Sun Packing LLC. He was opening the business for the day when a group of seven men exited a white van and attacked him in various ways. One of the assailants was later to be identified as Mohammad Daas, whose body would be found in November 2025 decomposing inside the trunk of a vehicle.
