Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old Latin American male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Edgardo Munoz Jr. Born in L.A. County.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Methamphetamine and Trazodone

Other Significant Condition: Morbid Obesity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 6:06 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 27, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Trazodone, sold under many brand names, is an antidepressant medication. It is used to treat major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, and difficulties with sleep.
