The coroner’s office identified the man as Donmaid Brooks.

Height: 5 feet 10 inches / Weight: 165 pounds

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Neck

RIP DONMAID BROOKS (September 12, 1999 – March 17, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday morning.

The decedent was shot while sitting inside his car in the Hyde Park area of South L.A.

LAPD responded to 59th Street and Third Avenue at around 6:45 a.m.
