(L.A.) Dillard Russell, 68, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Dillard Russell.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Cocaine and Phencyclidine

Other Significant Condition: Congestive Heart Failure

RIP DILLARD RUSSELL (November 28, 1956 – May 9, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 10:10 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 4, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
